There can be several reasons why your Serea lock might not open:
1. The lock has not been registered yet
Before you can use your Serea lock, you need to create an account and register the lock in the app.
Open the app and tap “Add a new lock.”
Enter or scan the PUK code (found on the Serea card inside your packaging).
The app will then ask you to scan your lock. Hold your phone’s NFC antenna steadily against the NFC chip inside the lock’s casing for a few seconds.
The scanning process will be shown on your screen. Once completed, your lock is ready to use.
2. The lock is under tension
If the lock doesn’t open, check whether it is under tension. Any pull or pressure on the lock can cause it to jam.
Push the movable part firmly back into place.
Release the tension and then try unlocking again.
3. The unlocking process was interrupted
For successful unlocking, it’s essential to first tap on "Click to unlock" and then hold your phone steadily against the lock for a few seconds without moving it until the process shown on your screen is complete.
If the scan is interrupted, the lock will not open.
For more details, refer to the “How to scan my lock” section in the app.
4. Your phone has a case on it
If your phone is in a case, the NFC antenna’s signal may be weakened, which can affect performance.
5. The app shows your lock is opening, but it doesn’t unlock
If the app indicates that your lock is open, but it remains closed:
Close the app and any other apps running in the background.
Restart the app.
Try unlocking again.
