Yes — your email account is required to register yourself in the Serea App. Within the app, your account is linked both to your email address and to your Serea lock once you’ve paired it.
Your PUK code is the ultimate backup key for your Serea lock. You can always find it in your email account and on the PUK card that came with your lock.
So, if you’ve lost access to your email account (for example, if it was hacked), just follow these steps:
Create a new account in the Serea App using your new email address.
Use your PUK Code Card to pair your lock again.
You’ll then receive a confirmation that your lock can now be opened with your new account, and that the previous account no longer has access.
